[…](And you actually got a chance to meet Supreme Master at the VIP reception. What was that like?) I did. I did. That was really wonderful. My wife and I were just honored to have been invited, first of all. And we walked around and we looked at Supreme Master’s other artistic endeavors; Her painting, Her jewelry, clothing designs. And after a while, I think it was Mr. Thái [Tú Hòa] who came up and said, “Supreme Master Ching Hai would like to meet you.” We had no idea we were going to be introduced to Her. But it was very touching to be able to meet Her in person and thank Her for having involved us in this tremendous event. And She was wonderful. She was very, very open and very friendly and very gracious. And we had seen Her be escorted in to the theater and had no idea that we’d actually be able to meet someone like this face to face. But it was a wonderful moment. […] But what was, I think, amazing was, for me at any rate, was the depth of Her humanity. (Yes.) The fact that this is not someone who is trying to be removed from human experience. This is not someone who is trying to be distant and separate. We sat down, we talked about coffee, and we were able to share a meal together. And it was wonderful approaching Her on that level and getting a chance to speak to a fellow artist, (Right.) someone who could talk about songwriting (Right.) and talk about composing and talk about coffee (Right.) and basic human experiences and emotions. Exactly. She’s so amazing to me, being this religious enlightened Master with this technology that really, I’ve studied many, many religions, and to find a meditation that really gives you that peace and love, and that She embodies this. But not only is She this enlightened Master, but like you said She’s real. She does artwork, paintings, clothing designs, jewelry designs, so that She can touch all people. And She is an amazing human being. Wow, I feel it’s such a great honor to have the opportunity to meet with Her like that (Absolutely.) and be with Her. […]
