So, there’s not much left in Africa. Elephant-people and all that now are rare species there. That’s why they have to organize many organizations to protect these endangered species, as you know very well. Why is it so? Because they have been exploited and killed or kidnapped for their precious tusks or their teeth, or their horns, their skin, or whatever reason. Maybe for medical purposes or maybe just for curiosity, or maybe just for their rare (animal-people) meat for the few wealthy people who had everything already and want something more that they did not know. So, Africa is not the wild jungle the way all the films portray. But people still have illusions. So, some of the people went to Africa for sightseeing, maybe to look for elephant- or for tiger- and lion-, and monkey-, zebra-people, things like that. But there’s none. Normally, they just go around the town. There’re roads, paved roads and cars, horse carriages, people and everything, all kinds of fruits and exotic things. I think, in fact I bought this in Africa. By the way. These I bought in Africa, some of these. Souvenir. Good tourist.
Do I see anything else here? I have to recite a mantra. It’s not yet appeared. Don’t be difficult. Give me something. Yes, yes, OK. I was just telling you the story about... What was it? Before, we complained all the time, and that we never have enough. And things like that. It happened to me too. Actually, here. They don’t take care of me that good. They forgot. They forgot. Not that they don’t want to, but they don’t think about it. Because I exist here like a ghost. The people don’t fear the Master. The people fear the head monk, or the police or things like that. The Master is very harmless and helpless and so small. And nobody fears Her. She doesn’t even make Her appearance so obvious here. I come and go just like a nobody, so they even forget to say hallo to me. When I pass by, it’s just like a ghost or something. Just fly past and nothing happens. So, lately I had to remind them that I’m here. “Hey. I’m here too.” Otherwise, they forget to include me here in the program and in the vicinity, just like I’m not here, which is good, too. That means they don’t smell my “Zen” fragrance.
But, sometimes it’s inconvenient because even though I don’t look very obvious in appearance, or my magnetic field doesn’t strike there so hard, but still, I need to work in this material existence. And to work, I need a lot of instruments. For example, when I draw pictures, or I make something, a postcard, or I make something for them, or artistic things for myself, or I design clothes, I need colored crayons and things like that. But they never gave it to me. But finally, after 10 years, I have some of them, and including a calendar, which you can turn a page every day – finally, after 10 years of every day asking, “What day is it today?” And they gave it to me. Ten years after I stayed in Taiwan (Formosa), I have a calendar. That’s a very big improvement. Don’t you think so? (Yes.) So, that means Quan Yin Method is extremely efficient.
I always telephone and ask. And after all, I had a telephone. Before, I didn’t even have that. And so, I said, “What day is it today?” So, they told me. And later I forget again and said, “What day is it then? What day did you say?” Or, “What is the day of the week today?” Because sometimes it’s even Sunday, and I don’t know. I forgot, and I tried to sleep a little bit late, until the telephone rang and said, “Master, 400 people want to get initiation.” I said, “What? Why?” They said, “Master, it’s Sunday. You said they can.” I said, “Oh, really? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.” Then I immediately jump out of my samadhi, the way you do, with the head first. With the head jumping in the front first, and then the rest of the body follows. And that’s how it works. And sometimes there’re very important events, things like that, and I forgot everything. So, that’s why I need all these instruments, not that I’m in need of them or attached to them or that I compare myself that they have everything and I don’t have.
And sometimes, for example, they do artistic work for the magazine, layouts and things like that, and they have tons of crayons and all kinds of equipment, big and small, fine and gross. It’s like a big shop. And I have just six crayons. Six colors. And one kind of it, not every kind. You know, crayons have all kinds: oil, things like that. But they don’t give it to me. I don’t know why. They think I can manifest everything because the Master “hula hoops” and then everything comes. Why should I do that? It costs only a few pennies to buy one. Why I waste my precious spiritual energy just to create a crayon when I can buy many of them? For example like that.
But it’s my problem, too. I never complain. I should complain more. I should ask about it. I never think about it. Whatever they give me, I use it. That’s why sometimes, whatever I have, it’s not more colorful. But lately, I complain. I say, “What? You see, I’m the biggest boss here, and I have nothing in my office.”
Besides, I didn’t even have an office, to tell you truthfully. This office has just been built last year. So anyhow, everything comes after 10 years. So, you see, you have to continue to practice for 10 years, and then you have everything like me. So, don’t complain. See that? I have to practice for more than 10 years, and I have to help many thousands of people to practice during these 10 years’ time. And then I accumulate that little merit, and then I can have multi-color, multi-kind crayons. You see? So, you just practiced for 10 days, don’t complain. And you didn’t help anybody to become spiritual practitioners, yet. So, whatever you have is: “You deserve it.”
And now, I even have a calendar as well. Just, I think, since last week, I have a calendar, and I was very happy that such a calendar exists in the world. I didn’t even know that it exists. Of course, I knew before. Before I was a Master, I had even more than what I have now. Of course, now I have the clothes. This time they give me that. So, you see, the clothes I designed are much better, more colorful, because I can use the crayons to express the color I want, and the shadow and all that.
Before, I mixed. Sometimes they don’t give me [what I need]. For example, they give me only seven colors. And then when I want violet, it comes out only one kind of violet. Even if I mix the red and the blue together to get the violet, it only comes out one kind. But now I have all kinds of different violet colors. I can express better. So, you see, this time I wear the colors differently. You see that? It helps. For material things, you need to use material equipment. Too bad, sorry, it’s like that. But nobody thinks about it, and I don’t think about it, either.
I never ask for anything. Whatever I have, I just use it. And if I don’t have, I don’t have. It’s just lately I saw them, they have a lot of things. I happen to see, and then I begin to desire. The same thing in this world. If we don’t have anything, and the neighbors also don’t have anything, then we never feel anything. But as soon as we saw they have something, ohh… Then we say, “Whoa, why not me?” Then we begin to trouble ourselves, we begin to desire things. And then we begin to try to work, to earn money, and to sell ourselves even for that thing that the neighbors possess. But in this case, it’s not... Don’t scold me. I just want it for other purposes. So, I’m very happy now to have a lot of crayons to play with, so I can design many different styles of clothing. So, you see, this time it’s different. More beautiful in color and more diverse in style. I’m very happy, I feel very happy, together with these that they gave me lately.
Not that they gave me everything that they had, though. There are many things they reserved for themselves that I occasionally, accidentally see. But still, OK, I’m contented, whatever. I think I just have enough, and I create my own, as well. And then together with these crayons, they also gave me this calendar, which is very convenient. Every day I pluck one, I turn one page. You know, the one that stands like this? And then you just peel one page down. And that’s good for me, too. I don’t have to find a notepad. I can write my memo on it. It’s very convenient, and I was so happy for many days now that I had this calendar. If I had this 10 years ago, my mood would be different. And the crayons, yes.
And the failure corrector, the white stuff, what do you call it? (White-Out.) White-Out, the White-Out thing, they also didn’t give me. Just lately, 10 years after, I have everything. Before, they bought me only one bottle, and small like this. And I ran around all over to work everywhere. Everywhere is my office. Before, I didn’t even have an office. So they bought just one bottle like this. So, every time I want to correct something, I have to go back two kilometers to get that bottle. And I have different places to work, and they just buy one bottle. One bottle of all the world. And so small, like this. And sometimes it’s stuck. And I’m stuck, too. Because, I don’t work the way they do. I work all night sometimes. You know, sometimes when you’re in a rush, then I have to work all night through. I don’t sleep. And during the night, I hate to disturb them, to ask just for a bottle of the White-Out. So I just have to use mouth water or something or blacken them out instead of white out, I use anything. Or I tape something, whatever I can use, I put it on, and glue and all that.
So now, finally, I have these things and the calendar. But, because I’m not so used to such a sophisticated thing. So, I continue to bug them. Every day, for example, I see today is 18, and I wonder, “How come it’s the 18th?” So, I’d telephone and ask them, “Today, is it the 18th?” Normally, they were “fed up” with me asking every day what day it is. And now they bought me a calendar and they still have problems. I’d ask them, “Is the 18th correct?” Because you never know, sometimes the wind just blows... So, you see, you have no end to problems. You never have a solution to anything. So, might as just well meditate and forget about everything.
Alright. So, that is your Master and Her things. Let’s see if any other funny things are available here. That’s true, because if we want to find peace, we must sacrifice something. We must go without something, because in this world, we never have enough anyhow. It doesn’t matter how much we have. Right? We still have not enough, or maybe we forget. Sometimes you come here, and you complain that the bathroom is too far. But you can’t put your bathroom in your pocket anywhere you go. It must be “far” sometimes. So, you’ll never have enough complaints, I tell you. So, you might just as well be satisfied with whatever you have.
