In today’s news, United Arab Emirates sends food aid to Kenya during drought. Study finds Peru mining pollution linked to children’s cognitive impairment, Swiss engineers generate electricity from evaporating saltwater, Singapore researchers use fermentation to reinvent kombu, US deputies save unconscious woman from house fire, UK university students vote to adopt campus-wide vegan dining, and toucan-person rescued after three months on the loose in United States.

My mum always reads us some vegan bedtime stories before bed, but sometimes I still can’t get to sleep. She taught me this tip that I want to share with you. Gently rubbing your feet together in bed, sometimes called cricketing, is a small self-soothing movement many people do automatically. The rhythmic motion can help signal the body to relax before sleep. It may help activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which supports the body’s natural relaxation response. The feet contain many acupressure points and rubbing them together lightly stimulates these areas, resembling a gentle reflexology foot massage that helps the body unwind. Repetitive movements like cricketing can also release oxytocin, a hormone linked with reduced stress and a greater sense of calm. If you often lie awake with thoughts running through your mind, gently rubbing your feet together for a few minutes may help settle your body and make it easier to drift into sleep.

Time for some light-hearted humor with the joke of the day entitled, “The Yelling Match.”

At a mixer, Jake, the star football player, approached Emily with maximum confidence and minimum grammar.

“Hey… where does you go to school?”

Emily noticed the grammatical fumble immediately and decided to have a little fun.

“Y... a... l... e.”

Jake froze. Processing. He nodded seriously, leaned in closer, and took a deep breath.

“WHERE… DOES… YOU… GO… TO… SCHOOL?!”

?!

And now we have a heartline in Aulacese (Vietnamese), with multiple-language subtitles, from a disciple in Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam
