“Climate change is the most serious issue today. The Earth is at a tipping point, and we need to respond. The bottom line is: evolve or perish.” “I visited the slaughterhouses for pigs, and poultry, and cattle in Africa, India, the United States, Canada, and these are terrible places to work.” Dr. Fox warns that industrial animal-people-raising heightens the risk of global pandemics. “When you lose biodiversity, you lose the controls on diseases and pestilence. So, we need to pull back and engage in planetary CPR – Conservation, Preservation, and Restoration of biodiversity – and this will help counter the terrible impact of climate change. That is all part of child education, rearing, and getting them out in nature so that they’re more interoceptive experts.”

“We need to consider our place in nature not as the dominant species, but as a compassionate steward. I call this the ethical-zoic age, where we become more ethically engaged at every level in all our relationships.” “One of the Native American Indian traditions for the youth was the vision quest – to go out alone into the wilderness and to discover who you are, and you might have a vision. Get out in nature. And then we speak with the animals, and they speak with us.” “I think this is an important aspect of our humanity: making music. When we listen to animals – my friend Roger Payne recorded the ‘Songs of the Humpback Whale’ back in the 1970s – and they are creating music. And some countries are still harpooning them. It’s tragic.”
