Korin Sutton is a Master Fitness Trainer, Health Coach, and 3-time Pro Vegan Bodybuilder. In 2011-2012, Korin Sutton’s exposure to vegan activism, particularly through the compelling lecture by Gary Yourofsky (vegan), sparked a transformative journey.“I use something called MyFitnessPal, which is a macro calorie counter. So, by using that application I was tracking all the foods I was consuming.” “I want to say I started bodybuilding in 2012, when I first went vegan, during that transition being vegan, and then moving into the sport of bodybuilding. So, with that said, even other competitors saw me, how much muscularity I had and how I was doing it, they would just ask, ‘Man, how do you get the protein?’ And I would just tell them, there’re some primary sources of protein like tofu, tempeh, seitan, and then you got your protein powders. And then everything else that I consume has protein in it as well, like fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds.”Korin recommends beginning with small changes and exploring the many alternative vegan meats available. “Or, start off with alternative meats, because, especially now it’s 2024, there’re so many alternative meats out there. So, anything you can think of that’s animal based that you like, just find a vegan version of it.” “And then if you want to learn more about athletic performance on a plant-based diet, I would say ‘Plant-Based Athlete’ by Robert Sheik. ‘For kids, if you have kids, this would be a great book ‘Animal Hero’ series. And I play the character, Freedom, so you can see me right there.”
